Homemade Biscuits

Ingredients:
2 cup Flour
1 Tbsp baking Powder
1/2 tsp Cream of Tarter
2 tsp Sugar
1/4 tsp Salt
2/3 cup Milk
-or 1/2 heavy cream
1/2 c Shortening
-or Butter

Preheat Oven to: 450 degrees
Directions:
Mix together flour, baking powder, cream of tarter and salt. cut in shortening or butter, til crumbly. Make a well in the center and add milk all at once. Stir until just moistened. Gently knead on a floured board 10-12 strokes. Roll out to 1/2" thick. Cut out with floured biscuit cutter. Place in greased pan, flipping once to coat both sides.

Buttermilk Biscuits:
Replace milk with 3/4 c. buttermilk + 1/4 tsp. baking soda.
